The FFA Centre of Excellence made the trip to Popondetta Park hoping to convert their positive play into points, and got off to a great start through Marc Tokich.

On the 17th minute Tokich stepped up to his free-kick from 30 yards out and drove his shot low, swerving in past Suman at the near post.

The youngsters held the 1-0 scoreline until it was spoiled by Lustica in the 33rd minute. Both teams went to half time level, leaving all to play for in the second half.

When play resumed it didn't take long for the Wanderers to take the lead, as Najjarine got his name on the score sheet in the 49th minute.

The Wanderers used the momentum and within 10 minutes they were 4-1 up through strikes from Baccus and Majok.

Mirza Muratovic looked to spark a come back in the 74th minute as he finished from Roberts' delivery into the box making it 4-2.

The come back was short lived as an own goal in the 75th was rounded out by Cimenti scoring in the 85th, securing the 3 points for the Wanderers.

The FFA Centre of Excellence youngsters will wrap up their maiden Foxtel National Youth League season at home against Newcastle Jets Youth on Saturday 21 January.
